 Testimonial:

"I build middle to high-end homes. One of my commitments to my homeowners is to anticipate and address current and future technology wants/needs
in their new home. Often in the process of building a new home there are so many decisions to make that they are unwilling to commit to
definite decisions about services they wish to install. I think the Commdeck is a great solution in terms of pre-wiring to keep many options open for
my clients. The Commdeck assures me that my roof shingles wont' be breached, my carefully installed attic insulation won't be disturbed, and
unsightly "retrofit" wires and units won't be mounted to impair the aesthetics of a new home. I believe in installing quality products in my homes that
have added value for my clients and Commdeck meets that criteria."

BUILDERS and DEVELOPERS

As a homebuilder or developer, you are no doubt offering structured wiring packages that provide wiring for video, phone, and data.
Today, more than 50% of new home owners will install dish service within their first year, even in areas where cable is available.
Since the inception of small dish services, satellite TV services average nearly 6,000 new subscribers daily. The rapid growth of
dish services for internet, music and video will only ensure the continued increase in dish usage.

Before the Commdeck product line, developers had no way to manage dish installations within
a community. Dishes were mounted on siding, porches, and roof tops with holes and unsightly
wire hanging from new buildings with no uniformity. This unsightly scattering of dishes degraded
property and led to expensive repair charges when changing occupancy. Roofing contractors
would void labor warranties because of possible leaks and damage to roofing materials, and
management groups would have to enforce installation restrictions.

The use of the Commdeck dish mounting system by builders and developers is the solution that can prevent these types of problems
from arising in your community, while creating an excellent upgrade opportunity, rather than an added cost to each job.

  • Eliminate using lag bolts to penetrate roofing and siding material, will not void roof warranty
  • Provides a sensible solution to complete home networking packages
  • Offers a built in solution for condos and developments, allowing a uniform mount and a predetermined location for dish placement
  • Offers a built-in option to cable TV service
  • Offers homeowners an alternative when developing in rural areas that are not serviceable by cable
  • Adds value and function to each home

 Testimonial:

"I own rental property and develop land for condos and communities. In most cases, I have covenants in place which are designed to make it
on the edge of impossible for satellite dishes to be installed in these developments. The reasons for these covenants are the result of
property damage and reckless installations, which have left some of my properties with satellite dishes or the mounts still attached to the building.
This has been particularly true as tenants move in and out. The disregard for my property had to end. There were no reasonable alternatives that
make the satellite dish look appealing or protect my property. Further I had to make it a habit to schedule time to meet with the installer,
grant permission, and hope the job would be done right.

I have now been using Commdecks on my new buildings to resolve this matter. We have successfully had our latest buildings wired using this
device. The Commdeck has given me reason to allow satellite dishes back into our properties. It is a sensible system that not only gives my
customers a choice but delivers a clean, uniform appearance and a weather tight enclosure. As a builder, developer and rental property owner,
I highly recommend the Commdeck for wiring buildings for satellite dishes."

Homeowner Associations and Apartment Building Owners

Satellite dishes have long been a source of contention for homeowner associations  and developments. Many HOA (home owner associations) prior to 1996 had bans that governed dish and antenna installs. That year the FCC determined that receiving satellite signals was a basic right and to no one's surprise dishes sprouted on building roofs, walls and eaves creating a clear mounting problem, with no control or uniformity in sight.

Roof consultants were concerned about the methods used for dish and antenna installations The more roof penetrations, the greater the possibility of leaking and the more attention required to prevent roof leaks from occurring. Many times these penetrations void roof warranties and can leak unknown for years until structural damage is discovered. The Commdeck product line is the missing link that allows landlords and associations to manage dish and antenna installations and placement. Using Commdeck products will guarantee a uniform installation and maintain the beauty and structural integrity of your community and common property. Using the Commdeck products to mount satellite dishes will keep your roof warranties in tact and allow dish removal and upgrades to be controlled as tenants and homeowners change over time. *It is strongly recommended to all landords and HOA associations, and now legally required in the state of California that all satellite dish and antenna installations include a non-penetrating mounting device.

Testimonial:

"Allowing satellite dish installation for my tenants has been difficult. I would need to take time out of my day to meet with an installer to determine where to place a dish for one of my tenants. The installer would tell me the options, which are, a pole in the yard, a mount lag bolted through the siding or a mount lag bolted through the roofing materials. In all cases a set of wires tacked to the building and another hole drilled into the building where the wire enters. In my estimation, none of these are acceptable. I own properties where the dish has been installed with no thought or concern about my property. This touched everything from the integrity of the structure to the appearance. As a result, I was driven to oppose any dish installations on my properties.

The Commdeck is used on all Situs buildings going forward. It has allowed us to plan for the satellite dishes in the same way that we have planned for the cable. It has provided a choice for my tenants. Satellite dishes on our new buildings have a clean, professional, uniform look that does not damage or degrade the property value.

By having this system built into my investment property, I have the peace of mind that the satellite equipment will be installed properly. My time is limited and this unit has also allowed the satellite installation to be completed with out my needing to go out to the site. In essence, I have given permission for the dish to be installed on these properties by simply having the Commdeck installed."

Roofing Contractors

While nothing is more important than the integrity of a roof, nothing is more frustrating than using lag bolts to penetrate through a new roof in order to remount a customers dish or antenna. The Commdeck product line is the solution for dish and antenna installations on new roof systems, whether your next roofing job is asphalt or tile.

For new home construction the Commdeck is flashed into the roof material just like a roof vent, and does not penetrate the roofing materials. The cables remain coiled inside the base unit until needed.

When re-roofing existing homes, where exterior wire is already present, our Retrodeck provides a superior mounting surface that secures under shingles, eliminating roof damage caused by standard installation methods.

Either product will offer your business an exceptional upsell opportunity and a great solution for your customer, without voiding their roof warranty.solution for your customer.

 Low Voltage Contractors

Now more than ever, builders are making use of integrators and low voltage contractors to offer a “complete” networking package.

There is finally a professional way to complete your pre-wire package without having to leave a coil of cable in the attic for dish installations. The Commdeck gives you the perfect opportunity to offer a complete satellite package that will add value to your customers homes for years to come.

Commdeck allows homeowners a pre-wire method that anticipates and addresses the current and future technology needs at a minimal cost. All cables can be wired directly into the Commdeck and remain coiled inside the base unit until the homeowner is ready for future service.

Today offering products that can give the homeowner as many options for future services is key to a successful pre-wire package. The Commdeck satisfies that criteria.

Tech Tip:

Use a toggle wing from a toggle bolt to install the wire into the Commdeck while working from inside the attic space. In many cases this will keep the Low Voltage techs form having to go on the roof surface. The toggle wing will hold the coax cable and ground in the Commdeck and will be ready for the satellite dish or antenna installer to use.
